Job Descriptions Sommelier:

A Sommelier is the name given to a person with experience and knowledge of wine. A Sommelier’s job within a hotel or restaurant for example might have some of these responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of the wine, from service to stock control
  • Stocking & ordering
  • Planning and development of the establishments wine list and tastings
  • Training and development of a team
  • Advising guests on specific wines
  • Ppromoting and maximising the sale of wine throughout the establishment

A Sommelier will need to be highly customer focused and have good communication skills.
