Job Descriptions Concierge & Receptionists:

The role of the Receptionist is to meet and greet guests who are checking in or who already staying at the establishment. They will also be responsible for answering the telephones, making reservations for guests check-in and also departure. Other responsibilities will include wake up call, newspapers, advising on amenities, guest enquiries and complaints, float and till procedure and organising the front desk.

The receptionist position is  vital as they are usually seen as the face of the establishment and guests will make judgement based on the first impression and initial service they receive.

The Concierge’s role is first and foremost to offer visitors a warm welcome and also to ensure that they are dealt with in an efficient and courteous manner throughout their stay. Other duties will include safe storage of customer’s vehicles, collecting and ticketing coats and other personal items. Other duties may include providing information on theatre performances, tours, car hire and flights etc. They will also deliver phone messages, packages and mail. Like the Receptionist, the Concierge’s role is extremely important as they are in most cases the first person with whom they will meet and therefore a good first impression is vital.
