Job Description for Executive Chefs:

The Executive Chef, or sometimes called the Head Chef is one of numerous titles given to the most senior chef in the kitchen. Within an average sized brigade of chefs, the most senior chef is usually given the Head Chef title, although in a larger environment there may be a Head Chef and above this person, an Executive Chef. Different organisations use different titles depending on their preference and size.

The Executive Chef is predominantly responsible for the entire group of chefs in the kitchen, calling food orders as they come in from front of house, ensuring high quality at all times, staff development and overseeing the stock control. Other responsibilities include staff recruitment, hygiene, menu planning and presentation.
