Hospitality Jobs in Conference & Banqueting:

Working in Conference & Banqueting can be unlike working in any other area of hospitality. Ranging from small companies offering a specialist small but cosy setting through to very large firms operating out of huge buildings and hotels who employ literally hundreds if not thousands of chefs, kitchen porters, waiters etc. There are many conference and banqueting venues in the UK.

Some companies offering a host of different options / venues and others specialising on one special location such as a picturesque manor house or castle in many acres of grounds.

Due to many of these locations being on the large size, there are often very large teams of people working within conference and banqueting operations. There are usually no second chances and so getting it right first time is very important and so there is often a lot of pressure on each individual to perform to the best of their ability without making too many mistakes.

Conference and Banqueting jobs can be very rewarding indeed and many companies offer world class food to their clients so working as a chef for example within conference and banqueting doesn't necessarily mean that the standards drop just because the quantities being produced are higher than those in a restaurant for example. Working in the Conference and banqueting sector can also give an individual a chance to travel and sometimes abroad depending on the assignment and location.

People who to work in conference and banqueting for many different reasons but a position in this area will show any future employers that you can work in and be part of a large team of people and be part of something which requires very careful planning and commitment to a desired outcome. These are two very good attributes to have when working within the hospitality sector.
