Commis Chef Jobs Description:

A Commis chef is the most junior post or apprentice in a kitchen brigade where typical duties will involve making cold starters, garnishes, stocks and also dealing with stock-taking and deliveries together with some other light duties.

A Commis chef will usually start their career in a 2nd Commis position and work their way up to 1st Commis where there first line of responsibility will be to manage the 2nd Commis. A Commis will work under a CDP (chef de partie) where they will learn and gain more knowledge and experience.
