![]() Job Description - Catering Management:A Catering Manager is generally responsible for planning; organising and developing the food and beverage services of a business or company/organisation. The job could be involved in a restaurant, hotel, cruise liner, hospital, school, resorts or indeed at an outside contract catering event. This could be a small party of 10 people right the way through to a large gathering for a corporate event hosting many hundreds of guests. A Catering Manager's role is to control efficiency, quality and care of the food & beverage together with organisation of the catering staff to ensure smooth running of the operation and sometimes the finances. Typical tasks that a Catering Manager would do include: Recruiting and training staff, motivating catering teams, ensuring health & safety are up to a high standard, managing payroll, interacting with customers and gaining feedback, liaising with suppliers, negotiating contracts with potential clients and managing stock levels.
